Young Adult for adults who need to float

There's something about a YA book that I'm drawn to. It's the characters' abilities to JUST BE YOUNG ADULTS. No bills, no stress, just inside their heads all day, reading thought-provoking literature, writing self-indulgent essays in lit class. I miss it. I really liked this first look for that reason. I felt like a teenager again, completely self-absorbed with no true adult worries. Plus, my father is also dead, and he was a great influence on me, so I can relate to imagining him by my side posthumously.
