I just started reading some young adult fiction again, and I’m continually amazed at how far this genre has come since I was a youth. The first 30 pages of this book had my full attention, but slowly, I started to lose interest as the story veered off into teen land. And that’s OK because the intended audience is young adults. I’m not sure where the story is going, but based on the book’s summary I believe one of the characters suffers from mental illness. I’m going to pass on this one because I’m too old to properly appreciate high school angst anymore, but this book would have been amazing to read when I was younger!
