Cutting to the chase I reccomend this book. The following is why. The main characters voice and motivation is so realistic and well formed you feel like your reading about a friend. You can easily place yourself in his shoes and understand his thought process. This book covers deep issues about race, sensuality, culture, religion, and family. However, it remains hillarious and well balanced. I never felt too overwhelmed or bogged down by the deeper message. I found myself literally laughing out loud many times. Every character is vibrant realistic and will carve out a place in your heart. Again I highly reccomend this book. Whether your looking for a queer lead character to relate to, a coming out adventure, a teen coming of age story with a plethora of high jinks and hiccups, or just a funny story with meaning at the heart of it this book is for you.
