I enjoyed reading this book. It feels honest and rings true as you read the story. The main character draws you in and makes you like them, which is always helpful when trying to read a work of fiction. Verisimilitude is important. I found myself rooting for him and hoping that everything would work out somehow. Especially when he was at his lowest points! My teenage daughter claimed the book as soon as I finished reading it, and she also very much enjoyed reading through it. Any book that catches both my and my teenaged daughter's interest is a winner in my mind! The nice thing with this book is that it also triggered some interesting and valuable conversations between my daughter and I. And as anyone with a teenaged kid knows, conversations that actually go into depth and really communicating with them are treasures. Strength comes in many different forms, and life rarely works out the way we expect it to. I enjoy reading stories where the strength of the main character feels real and relatable, like with this one!
