I wasn't sure what to expect from a book that is being compared to Simon other than it would, at some point, discuss sexuality.
I wasn't expecting it to be so amusingly shoved right in your face from the very beginning. The format of the book draws you in with ambiguous one sided conversations and flashbacks that start to flesh out the story. From the get go, I felt drawn in and wanted to know more about Amir and his family - the characters seem relatable and appear to be well fleshed out!

The writing flows nicely between flashbacks from before with the events that lead up to the explosive fight on the plane and the interview style Q&A session occurring that is taking place in the airport detainment room. The language helps paint a picture without becoming too over the top or confusing.

Excited to read more and find out exactly how it all blew up!
