When I first read the excerpt through BookishFirst, I was very intrigued by the formatting (I love books with unique and different formatting) and content of the story. I fell in love with the characters and story when I read the whole book. It was such a good story about growing up, finding yourself, acceptance, and learning to stick up for yourself. Amir is a likeable character and teaches the reader a lot on his journey to find himself.
I loved the relationships that were created in the story between Amir and his friends in Italy. They reminded him that he was able to be himself and that his problems with his family would resolve one way or another.
I'm definitely going to check out more of Arvin Ahmadi's books in the future as this one was really well written.
