I loved everything about this book from the atmosphere to the main character. The way it was told kept the story moving and never let the supsense lapse. I felt for Amir and his struggles with his family. It was a beautiful exploration of finding queee culture and finding your place inside of it. Having visited Rome for a short time a little while ago reading about the beautiful scenery made me miss everything about that beautiful city. Everyone wants to run away sometimes and the fact that Amir was brave enough was so inspiring. The ending felt realistic and not too neat. Things would continue to be messy with his family, but you can tell they really love each other and would do anything to keep Amir in their life. I would definitely read a sequel all about Soroya. She was such a fun and interesting character and she had so much fun personality.
