Amir is a gay Muslim teen trying to make it through his last year of high school. He plans to go far, far away for college and then come out to his parents. His plans go awry, however; two classmates blackmail him with photos of him kissing a male classmate. Amor freaks out when he can’t pay them and figures they’ll make good on their threat to tell his parents at graduation. So he flies the coop and heads to NYC. While in the airport, he calls his family to let them know he’s alright and the overhead announcement comes on so his family knows he is in New York City. Forced to leave for a new place, he ends up in Rome.
