When people tell me not to judge a book by its cover, I feel instantly guilty. Of course I won't be able to scrutinize every book that I see in a bookstore so I always go for the covers that catch my eye. This book has an amazing cover that complements its premise and themes. I could not ask for a better book cover.
In terms of story, this hits so close to home as someone who has Muslim friends. I have seen injustices and microaggressions that they experience in my own country. It was never a secret to my friends and I that what our Muslim siblings go through in other countries are sometimes far worse than what the media shows us.
I am grateful for books like this because it can be highly educating and informative by making one's empathy and compassion stronger. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of this soon-to-be masterpiece.
