Likable Character & Important Narrative Discussions

This books sounds like it will bring to light a lot of modern-day issues including how Muslims deal with stereotypes and discrimination as well as coming out as gay and how that can affect family dynamics, among others. I felt that Amir was a likable character, and I was drawn in by his perspectives and string of conscious style in answering questions. You begin in an interrogation room which immediately puts you into the action of the story. I'm not a big fan of contemporary books, but I think this one will be an important addition to the literature world.
