My heart is already hurting for Amir. It's hard being different than everyone else in high school. Not to mention Muslim and gay. I will never be able to understand what that's like, but my heart breaks for him just the same.
I like that we start off in the midst of the action. I hate what he has to go through. But the interviews are a unique way to tell us his story.
Random note, I love that his trip to Italy was spurred by Gelato.
