A Different POV on YA Coming Out Stories

I love that before the book starts, we're told it's based on true events. It made everything I read after that much poignant. As I got into the first chapter, I was immediately struck by the humor - Amir's response to being a part of ISIS is "Sir, I don't mean to belittle the evils of the world, but those guys would never take a fruit like me" is a truly epic line! Ahmadi has a unique voice and while there are a lot of YA books out there that deal with coming out, this one has a fresh take and great premise.
