Today does not feel like a day for killing

It feels like a day for reading! Who is Mother?! She sounds delightfully creepy! I'm looking forward to finding out about Rhea and the other mother. I want to get in to Yagrin's universe and learn everything. I can feel her anxiety from the first few pages. She hates her magic because she has been forced to blend in because of it. She longs to be free so she does not have to hide herself any longer. Yet, those who supposedly know what's best for her are holding all the cards. Her mom tells her, "Their magic is different than yours, Quell. They move in the world in a way that you never will because of your toushana.” But that does not mean that she has to be isolated. It's clear that she wants to connect. How can she not be drawn to her grandmother's estate when she's known no constants other than it?

The writing style is very clear and the imagery is vivid.
