This story is very intriguing from the beginning, although I kind of felt as though I was dropped into the middle of a story without much background at first. Some of the terminology is a little confusing in the beginning, but once you get further along in the story you have more information and figure out what is going on.
The premise kept me interested and I enjoyed this take on a school of magic with a strong FEMALE in the lead role. I like how the author created a whole world and society all of it's own among those who are born with magic. In a way it reminds me of a cross between X-Men and Harry Potter, but is still unique in it's own way. I do hope there is another book coming to give us some more answers and time in the world that was so crafting created!
