I will be honest, this is probably the first fantasy book I've read since Twilight in high school. I know. Crazy. But it intrigued me so I wanted to give it a shot.

Quell has been on the run with her mom since the discovery of her toushana, otherwise known as dark magic. She is found by members of a group who seek out those with toushana and kill them. So she goes to the only place she thinks she will be safe. Her grandmothers. Oh and it turns out she is an heiress to the House of Marionne.
Anyways, once there she has to fit in by becoming a debutante.
There's love. There's dark academia. There's magic. There's secrets and betrayl. What's not to love? Well I guess I didn't love that it ended on a cliffhanger because it's going to be a series. Guess I just have to get the second book when it comes out!
The world J Elle created was full of surprises. I really enjoyed it and I NEED to know where Quell is now!
