A fantasy book with hints of bridgerton!

This book was a lot of fun. A magical boarding school. A girl with forbidden magic. A debutant-like society and setting, while also providing commentary on the classism and elitism that exist in such places. And a slow-burn enemies to lovers. There are a lot of tropes in this book, and yet I still couldn't put it down. I'm typically not into dark academia or books with high society anything, but I couldn't put this one down. The commentary on classism and elitism in this book is exceptional. I usually hate high society books because they never address the elephant in the room which is... not everyone is considered enough for "high society". This book addresses it had on.

Also, the diadems growing out of people's heads was unexpected. I loved it and love when we get magic so unique!

I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next in the series!
