First off, absolutely love the stunning cover of this book. That’s what drew me to enter the my first impression. Secondly, this book leaves me wanting more. Quell has to hide so that she isn’t found to have magic. Her and her mom have been on the run, keeping Quell safe. When Quell is literally in the wrong place at the wrong time, her mom sends her to an unknown place, where her grandmother of all people are there to greet her. From the first couple of pages, we learn that Quell comes from 6 generations of magic and her mother left one night with Quell with no note or explanation to her grandmother. I have a feeling a lot of questions are yet to be answered and Quell has a lot to learn. I was instantly drawn in and wanting to know more about the many times Quell and her mother have moved, more about the men after her and more about the magical powers Quell has. I’d love to get a copy of this book as I have a feeling a grand adventure awaits Quell as she discovers a hidden part of herself.
