There's something very other about the City of New Orleans and so starting a book about magic there was a wonderful choice. As someone who frequents the city it was easy to imagine myself right there alongside Quell. I loved the sense of urgency and desperation that sent her straight into the arms of her grandmother, which it remains to be seen is a good thing or not. From what I've read so far I'm very intrigued by the magic system and mythology of the House of Marionne. I love books that are set in a school or academic exciting and this one promises to be an exciting addition to the genre. I can't wait to read more.
