Sanguis electorum dives est: The Blood of the Elect is Rich. I love that little dedication opener. After reading the synopsis and the teaser, I can see how that will fit in perfectly to the storyline.
The cover was the first eyecatcher for me. I like the burning flower and dagger, one part fits the idea of toushana and the other points to the assassin aspects in the synopsis. Very beautiful and thought out.
The Dragun chapter was an excellent opening before Part One. I liked the sinister atmosphere and morally grey aspects of the character. I'm looking forward to how that particular character ties in later. Quell has a personality I am still getting to know but I feel I'll like once I'm deeper into her acclimating to House Marionne. She holds a strength I admire in my MCs.
I'm enjoying the family secrecy, the dark academia vibes, the depth of the magic system and the way the narrative is flowing so far. I'm curious how the romance will turn out. I'm even more so interested in seeing how Quell handles the dark side of her gift. This is one of my anticipated releases this year and I cannot wait to continue reading!
