Not what I was expecting but I’m totally pulled in just from the beginning. Magical realism is always a good genre and it seems like this is in line with that. I love when a new magic system is introduced so that’s the part I’m looking forward to most. I didn’t expect it to be set in the modern day in Mississippi!
