I feel like the world-building is off to a great start in House of Marionne. The pace is a bit fast and jumps right in. It seems like Quell and her mother are used to pickup up everything and moving on to the next. When Quell is faced with going on a new journey on her own, I think it will test her limits. She is going to learn about her magic, how her secrets will affect the rest of her life, and how to adjust to a new living situation. Good start for this fantasy read.
