Thank you for the ARC!
I wasn't sure what to expect from House of Hollow, the cover and the description pulled me in that once I got the book in the mail I couldn't wait to start it. I finished the entire book in one sitting and I was practically on the edge of my seat the entire time.
There were many things about the Hollow sisters that intrigued me as much as the people surrounding them. What I loved about Iris as a character is that she is terrified of herself. And I don't mean in a Juliette Ferrars or Mare Barrow type of way, but in a way that I think all teenage girls are terrified of themselves and the people around them. She has a power that she knows nothing about but constantly compares herself to her two older sisters who seem so confident in their skin and their abilities, and I think that is something most young girls can relate to.
I absolutely loved being able to see Grey and Vivi in their elements even as everything around the three sisters became warped and convoluted. The storyline was intense, there were many times that I got wrapped up in the mystery that surround the Hollow sisters that I would pick up my phone to google their story to remember that they aren't real!
As the story went on there were so many new layers to what happened to them 10 years prior that I wasn't sure what type of mystical magical adventure they got sucked into or if it was all just a way for them to process being kidnapped. By the time I got to the end my mind was reeling at who the villain ended up being. With that being said I wouldn't even say villain, I think that this character was way more complex than that. While I don't imagine that there will be a second book there were definitely seeds that were planted that could be gateways to a sequel or even a spin-off novella.
This book was amazing and I can't wait to see all the fanart and fanfiction that comes out of it because I definitely need more of the Hollow sisters!
