I was originally drawn to this book because of the beautiful cover but found a twisted story underneath. The sisters in this story are described as eye catching and enchanting and their story matches the same description.
I especially loved the way the author has given them unique reactions to their beauty. Our main heroine tried to ignore it with a sense of indifference, and the other actively tries to dull it. Choosing to mar her seemingly perfect looks and hating every bit of it.
However the other sister uses it to her advantage and embraces it, she wears what she wants to get what she wants. Instead of fearing what could lurk in the dark for her she describes herself as “the thing in the dark.” Instead of fearing something she is something to be feared.
I’m curious to see how our “thing in the dark” has disappeared and what will be done to bring her back, or if she’ll come back at all...
