While I wished it was more spooky, House of Hollow was eerie, atmospheric, and unique. Weird powers, strange happenings, and a mystery long unsolved make this book hard to put down. It is a smooth and quick read, the first person pov done well so it is not too in the characters head or whiney, which sometimes makes me shy away from first person pov.
The characters were interesting and so distinctive. I hate when all the characters are so similar that they muddle together. The Hollow Sisters, Iris, Vivi and Grey, are compelling and mysterious, with very different personalities.
I loved the twist, but I felt like it needed a bit more set up. At times I felt the action scenes happened very fast, when perhaps more description would have been helpful. Overall a great dark, lyrical, paranormal story. I would read more of the Hollow sisters for sure!
