I can't decide if I want to read this book, but the excerpt is lovely and strange and eerie and it makes me want to immediately buy it and immediately shove it to the back of the bookshelf at the same time. I don't generally do well with horror, and this feels like it ought to be horror, but it's so delicate that the sentences slip by one after another and I still can't decide. Do I want to read it? Should I read it? I don't know.
