I was incredibly excited to dive into Hotel Magnifique and I’m glad to say it didn’t disappoint. Aside from the adventure itself, the description and detail of the hotel was the biggest enchantment for me. The magic from the suminaires, the tree, the cities that the hotel visits every night. All of this encased in a mysterious plot.
The characters also hold a sort of mystery to their lives. The book follows numerous characters. Each coming with their own backgrounds and histories. Between two of the main characters (Jani and Bel) a love connection is built. What was most appealing about this connection was that it was not over powering. Nor was it fast building. Like the book it was steady and well developed. The story in fact revolves around two sisters and it is not forgotten or lost amongst the relationship between Bel and Jani.
Jani's determination to save her sister is the entire drive behind her involvement at the hotel.
The book moves at a pace steady enough that you get to unravel all the stories of these characters without feeling overwhelm. Each connecting beautifully to one another and to the hotel.

The only "negative" was that it merely wasn't long enough. I would have loved to go more in depth with some of the characters. To see more of their history. Especially the antagonist.

Highly recommended for YA readers everywhere!
