From the first look, I was intrigued by the plot. The prologue opens the story with an air of mystery surrounding the Hotel Magnifique which draws you in. I enjoyed the characters, the fantasy elements, and the settings of this book. I like the idea of a magical hotel appearing and disappearing. Jani and Zora's sisterly relationship is great. The cover of the book is beautiful, and it also gives you an idea of the tone of the story which I think is a great match.
I do think the writing was a little more on the simple side and a bit predictable/cliche. Although the descriptions of the setting were vibrant, I felt like the writing (particularly the dialogue) was lacking in intricacy. The description of the characters were also simple but they do give you an easy visualization in your mind. Overall, I enjoyed the first look of Hotel Magnifique, and I am looking forward to more.
