When I first saw the cover of Hotel Magnifique I was immediately captured by the cover. It had a Caraval feel which is one of my favorite stories of all time.

Upon entering the story the reader is introduced to Hotel Magnifique and it’s mysterious disappearance as it lands in a new place every night at midnight. The first two characters introduced are Jani and Zosa. Jani has dreamed of entering Hotel Magnifique but the trick is you need to have an invitation. When her sister gets accepted to work for the hotel Jani quickly finds a way to get in herself. And the story picks up from there.

I won’t go into detail on the story as that’s for the reader but my thoughts are the book is good. I think having the expectation of Caraval I was slightly disappointed but it’s still a super fun read. I wanted maybe a little more whimsical magic but that’s more my expectations.

Overall I loved it and would recommend.
