From this sample, this seems like a very fun, just-harrowing-enough fantasy, with enough whimsy thrown in to keep things light and frothy for the most part. Yes, there are more serious topics, but it seems like a good romp, and the cover suggests that tone as well. I know this book is hyped, and I'm certainly curious to pick up the finished version.
