There's mystery as soon as you start reading the first sentences of this book. You wonder what happened to that boy, and you want to keep reading to find out. I'm not one to usually read books with supernatural elements on it but this one is wonderfully written. I could see it like a movie in my head, which doesn't ever happen to me with mediocre writing, so this, this must be superior. The author is descriptive enough to allow you to make an image out of what's happening, but just enough so that you can still use your imagination and not get annoyed by the excess of details.
The first pages introduce us to two sisters, one is 17, the other is 13 and a very talented singer. Their mother is dead and the oldest one made her a promise to watch out for her little sister. That's why, when a famous and mysterious magical hotel appears in town and the younger sister is offered s job there, the oldest has to resort to her stubbornness to get a job there too and be able to go. She basically annoys the heck out of a boy that works there and refuses to let him know where her sister is when he shows up to take her to the hotel. There's chemistry there and a lot of potential for romance.
