Very intriguing and mesmerizing concepts play out rather quickly. Reminding me of a mix of Caraval, The Night Circus and even a dash of Julie and the Phantoms (magical contracts and all!).

With a definite sense of the Belle Époque era, with magically-altered Art Nouveau details in abundance, the story has a pull of magic and mystery at every turn. But beyond the beautiful facade and the grand opulence is an eerily secretive underbelly.
Not even an ominous warning and near death experience can hold back the entrancing magic of it all. A flash of jealousy and the promise of a better life staves off any latent apprehension. And with that we’re off on an adventure of a lifetime! I cannot wait to see where this story goes from here!
