17-year-old Jani has protected and cared for her 13-year-old sister Zosa ever since their mother died four years earlier. Their chance for a better life depends on obtaining an invitation to the mysterious hotel that only appears in an alley once every 10 years and then magically disappears again. Zosa's wonderful voice earns her an invitation to join the entertainment staff, but Jani has to connive her way in. Bel, the handsome staff member who comes to their aid, has his own secrets. A magical world-traveling hotel is filled with other-worldly people, one I hope to learn more about as I read the entire novel.
