The description alone set high expectations on this book. What i thought, at the time, were unrealistic expectations. While I wasn't a fan of The Night Circus, Caraval is a high expectation to meet.
But it definitely has potential. As an avid fantasy reader, I'm always intrigued by this type of fantasy. I love the idea of a hotel that just pops up out of no where ever so often. And disappears to a different place in a day or so.
I cant say much about the characters just yet. I dont feel particularly attached yet. But with this type of fantasy, it typically takes a little while because I'm also adjusting to the world and the rules.
