Hotel Magnifique has sort of Beauty and the Beast meets The Night Circus vibes. Set in a Belle Epoque-esque town called Durc, we learn through Jani and her sister Zosa of the Hotel Magnifique. Coming once a decade, the magical hotel boasts wonderous experiences that only the very rich or very lucky can afford to experience. When Jani finagles jobs for her and her sister, it seems the hotel may not be all that it seems.
The writing is both evocative, yet realistic, with smatterings of French throughout. We are immediately drawn to Jani and the clear love she has for her younger sister. The jacket cover is reminiscent of the vibrant purple newspaper ad that Jani sees for a position in the hotel. Overall, this one is sure to be a must-read!
