This is a coming of age story about the biggest pop stars of the 1990s. They are fictional characters who are based on the real life characters we all know from that time period. I liked the writing style because it was easy to read and follow. The characters were cool but I sort of wished that they weren’t based on the real life personalities. The main character seemed to be based off of Britney Spears and I think that the other characters were a mash up of the other big names in pop music. A lot of the things that happened to the main character were things that happened to Britney Spears. The author did a good job of making it a different person but you are constantly comparing the book to real life. The book had some original elements that made it stand out such as including the parts of a song as the chapter headings, song lyrics, and Wikipedia entries.
