I really enjoyed Honey. It is a story about a young woman, Amber, who becomes a celebrity during a time in her life where there are so many transitions due to her age and her growing up in a single parent family and how that was not the norm in the late 90s.

Amber gets caught up in the Hollywood way of life and lets others turn her into someone and focus more on her appearance and sexuality than her talent. As Amber goes through her early years of fame, she is used by men. As Amber grows up, she evolves in her music and her sense of self.

Honey is truly a beautiful story about finding oneself, friendship, and love. And as someone who grew up listening to pop music of the 90s and 2000s (Britney Spears, NDYNC, Backstreeg Boys, Christina Aguilera), Honey gave me a different perspective on the experiences they endured as their fame blew up.

I also love the cover of Honey - the pink as a nod to bubblegum pop, the font as a nod to girl band font of the time period, and the discs on the cover.
