From the first page I felt like I started watching a coming of age movie. We follow the life of a young girl named Amber who is just trying to follow her dreams of being a singer. We see how hard it can be to get recognized in this line of business and how much work it requires.

Isabella Banta’s writing is so light and airy it does not make me feel suffocated with words. She does not bore us with unnecessary details and her writing does not feel flat. She knows how to keep you invested in the story and make you connect with the characters.

I have always liked books about singers, actors and their lives. I like the fast pace of the book and the time it is set in. As a 2000 baby I grew up listening to the music from the 90s and early 2000s so this book feels very nostalgic to me. It feels like a perfect read for the summer when you just want to relax with your favorite book on the beach.

I can’t wait to read the whole book and I am sure I’m going to love it.
