By the synopsis and cover I really thought I'd love this but I didn't make it 3 words without the dreaded "we women are nothing but fragile victims in a patriarchal society" troupe. It's so far from the truth and it's honestly degrading. Within the first 5 pages we are hit with line after line about her body, spread legs, we are told to imagine a pre pubescent girls hairy crotch and "breast buds". Seems to me that it's us who are so focused on women's bodies and not the men. The last thing I want to read about is a child's naked body. I understand the author is trying to say it's society that's focused on women's bodies and sexualizing young girls but she does it all within the first 4 pages of the book. I think we need to look inwards and fix it there first..
