This is a memoir worth reading. Mike Jollet, the author recounts his life as a young boy with his older brother being raised in a cult, unable to see his mom and dad. The abandonment issues that follow frame the rest of the story. Lifelong anger issues, attachment issues and addiction weave their way through this profound story of family and love.
The characters are well developed, the story well written. The author tells us the story of the abuse he faces growing up and how that affects him and his brother. When we meet his dad you can see the love he has for him and he takes you through a journey of that important relationship.
As the reader, you are rooting for Mike the whole way through, as he learns life lessons, and what’s important.
I truly love this memoir, and the message of resilience it leaves long after you are through with this family’s story.
