Not for me
Thanks to Celadon books for sending me an advance reader copy of this book. Upon seeing the premise I thought it would be really interesting to read about a childhood spent in a cult despite the fact that I did not know who the author was.
I gave up on this book 50% in. I liked some of the author’s writing style but had a hard time getting into the story. To me, each chapter felt like a separate story and I would sometimes be confused about what was going on or where the story was. It didn’t hold my attention and was feeling like a chore to keep reading it.
I think many other people have found the book to be interesting so I think perhaps this was just not for me. I was also disappointed there was not much of any mention about living in the cult.
