Hollywood Park starts out with the author being taken from all that he has know. to escape with his Mom and brother. Escape from what? The C-U-L-T. The author's life is completely messed up, his mom did not give birth to him, he was put in a "school" at 6 months old. He was separated from all that he knew when his Mom rescued he and his brother (who he didn't even know). His new life came with food insecurity, random men coming and going, not fitting in and moving. He was found to be brilliant, but that also came with a dilemma, to skip grades or not. His brother was volatile, abusive, and unhappy. His mother was depressed, ignored the kids and kept going back to addicted men. The father of the boys had his own demons. As the story progresses the author finds himself and his way. This is a story of strength, addictions, families and self-preservation.
