This book really moved me. Prior to reading it, I did not know anything about the author or his band. I was drawn in by the unusual and often heartbreaking tale of his upbringing. The abuse and subsequent addiction issues were hard to read about but I appreciate the honest way he spoke about his life. I love a real underdog story, one where the person is able to fight and rise above their circumstances and find their place in the world, and this memoir gave me hope. It's beautifully written and honest and it will definitely stay with me for a long time. This is a roller coaster ride of a book that is filled with hardships and pain but you will be all the better for having read it. I definitely recommend it.
