I liked this one, in spite of it being outside of my normal fare

I received an ARC of this one (how, I'm not quite sure - it showed up, but it wasn't one that I've entered a giveaway for) - I think it was through Celadon's first look program. The writing is evocative. I've never heard of Jollett or the band, but the writing style is absolutely gorgeous. I found myself caught up in it, in spite of not knowing (or particularly caring TBH) who this person was. The writing is what really draws you in and keeps you there, and you want to know just what Jollett has to say next. It's the work of a gifted artist who is well versed in the art of introspection, and his ability to convey setting, tone, and sentiment makes me think that it will be definitely worthwhile to check out his band as well.
