The writing of this was very emotional and evocative, and it seems like an interesting memoir both from the first look and the description of the book. However, it was an unusual first impression because it was a selection from the middle of the book rather than the start, making it a little bit hard to follow without any sort of context. That being said I think that it definitely sounds like an interesting memoir. The chapters in the first look almost read like vignettes, brief excerpts from the authors life that really capture the emotion but perhaps a looser timeline structure than other memoirs or nonfiction that I've read.
