I love a good family drama. I also love a well written memoir, and this looks like it’s going to combine those into one incredible book.
It’s so inspirational to me when someone can go through an incomprehensible experience and come out on the other side thriving and find success.
Reminiscent of Educated and The Glass Castle, Mikel’s story looks like one of a childhood deprived of education and love. But having heard his music, and knowing he went to Stanford, I’m impressed with the fortitude he must have had to change his life.
