It's odd that we start out in chapter 15, but from there the book seems really interesting. At first I didn't like the strictly first person perspective, but as I kept reading I definitely found myself caught up in the story. I'd like to read more to see how the tone changes as Mikel grows up. It is well-written and seems like it could be a really great and important read. I think the cover is eerie, but I don't think I like the aesthetic very much.
