This memoir starts off with an impactful punch. The author does not shy away from his experiences and provides a lot of detail into what he has gone through. By describing his family life and the events that have impacted him, readers are able to gather an understanding of the character and also feel as if they are living the life alongside him. I especially felt this when I was reading the beginning part of the story when he saved up for his new bike, his interactions with his brother, and what happened to it. I wanted to jump in and stick up for him myself. This book will definitely impact many readers.
