It's really difficult for me to get a strong impression from chapters somewhere in the middle of the book. I like to form an opinion during the first few pages, instead, to see if it pulls me in, if the setting is developed, how the characters are introduced, etc.
Seeing as I have never heard of this band, for this guy, my interest isn't piqued by his narration. Especially when I'm not introduced to him properly by a chapter one.
