In a world where memoirs can be all over the place, this particular one follows Mikel from infancy to adulthood and all that it encompasses- To hear as a child he was taken from his mother, whom was able to escape with her children is amazing and yet heartbreaking at the same time. Driven to addiction, which is no shock considering to finding himself and his place is inspirational. I find I am easily drawn into the story, the tragedy and the rise of this young man.
