This is the story of a survivor. As a child, Mikel Jolet lived with his mother as part of the notorious Synanon cult. The ongoing abuse he endured there as a child was akin to torture. Despite his horrible childhood, he went on to graduate from Stanford University and make a name for himself as a musician and NPR contributor.
